Dreams In Motion

Okay…here we go. The first blog post. No pressure…just keep it cool and casual…

Okay, so that wasn’t cool or casual, but I have to seriously say I am so thankful for all the amazing people who are supporting my dreams. As some of you know, I’ve been writing my own music from a very young age and I was always too afraid to show it to anyone. My music comes from deep inside myself. I say things in my music that I’d never say aloud. Usually my emotions are just building up and I can’t hold back anymore, so I get it out through song writing.

I have to be honest. I am still completely terrified that I am doing this. Every time I put a new song out there I am flooded with emotion. What makes it all worth it are the messages I receive when my music has really touched someone. My music is purely just the raw emotion that I experience in my life and I find a way to put it down on paper and add a nice tune to it. When I’m done with a song, that’s when I finally listen to it. I listen to the words I’ve written, the melodies I’m singing, and that’s usually when I learn something about myself.

We often tell ourselves we’re okay. We often put on a happy face; grin and bare it. My music is nothing like that. It’s the one place where I don’t have to be happy and perfect and all smiles, and the same goes for you. I want my music to be there for you. I want to be there for you. I want you to be your fullest self when you are listening. Isn’t that what music is about? We use it to heal and to communicate. At least I do.

Let’s just make one thing clear; I’m not trying to get famous. I do not want to be the next Taylor Swift or Katy Perry (as if that could happen). In all honesty, I just want to see how many people out there relate to my music and I want to help them. Once I’m done writing a song I really feel like I’ve healed a part of myself. When I listen to other artists and fall in love with their music, it becomes a part of me and a part of my life. That is so beautiful. We’re all just a bunch of strangers pretending we don’t feel the same way as one another, but we do.

Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the support so far. I’ve really appreciated the messages and comments from everyone letting me know how my music makes them feel. It genuinely warms my heart. I’m not really sure what I’m doing in this life, but I know what makes me happy and being The Lone Daisy has made me happy beyond words. I cannot wait to see what the future holds.

Stay tuned for more blog posts and insights into my music and what it’s about!

See you again,
